A Letter from our CEO: Accenture brings global recognition to Genesys Works

Dear friends and supporters,

I am excited to report that Genesys Works is not only extending its recognition at a national level, but now thanks to Accenture, people around the world are learning about the work we do!

As you know, Accenture has been our national strategic partner and has played a key role in our expansion in Houston, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and now, Chicago. But helping us expand across America was not enough for Accenture. They are now bringing GLOBAL VISIBILITY to our program by choosing Genesys Works as the only nonprofit based in the United States to be profiled in their latest Corporate Citizenship Report. Their 2008-2009 report, which describes Accenture's community involvement efforts worldwide, was published in March and is available in an interactive format on their website. Check it out (we are on page 19).

I am so proud to have Genesys Works used as an example of Accenture's community involvement in the U.S. Since Scott Pharr, an Executive Director at Accenture, first joined our board of directors, our organization has tripled in size. Furthermore, as Accenture focuses on their global theme of Skills to Succeed, which is aimed at educating people around the world and building skills that enable them to participate in and contribute to the economy, the company has provided Genesys Works with invaluable resources and support that are helping us expand nationwide, all of it pro bono:

  • They introduced Genesys Works to some of their key clients, which in turn became our clients and are now engaging our students.
  • A team of Accenture consultants last year crafted a strategic national expansion plan that will help take Genesys Works to nine major U.S. cities by the year 2014.
  • Another team of consultants—from their Chicago office—conducted a feasibility analysis, which played a key role in our ability to start operations there this year.
  • Currently, Accenture consultants from their New York office are doing a phenomenal study to expand Genesys Works into New York City in 2011.

On behalf of the thousands of students whose life trajectory will be changed for years to come as a result of Accenture's direct involvement with Genesys Works, I truly thank them for their trust and investment, and I look forward to our continued partnership.
