Genesys Works-Chicago Grows in 2011
2011 is promising to be a year of significant growth for Genesys Works-Chicago. With the completion of a successful pilot year in 2010, we set our sights on bigger and better things for 2011. Our stretch goal was to increase the number of students served by Genesys Works in Chicago from 32 to 100. We are pleased to announce that as of March 15, 2011, we have met this goal. After completing our recruiting and interview process, we extended offers to 108 students to participate in our 2011 training program. These students will become part of Genesys Works on June 27, 2011, when our summer training program begins.
We had over 200 applicants for this year's program and added 7 new schools to our list of partners. In all, our 2011 class represents 14 different Chicago Public Schools. Julian, Young, Curie, Dunbar, and Hubbard continue to be excellent school partners. Each of these schools will have more than 10 students participating in our 2011 program.
