Student Profile: Eduardo Perez
In his first speech of the summer training program, Eduardo Perez, stood nervously at the front of the room; his six-foot four inch frame like a tower swaying in the wind. As his eyes shifted from side to side at a rhythm consistent with the nervous shuffle of his feet, his fellow trainees watched anxiously as he worked to muster up the courage to speak. Finally Perez's deep, shaky voice pierced the silence of the room. Little did he know, he had just taken his first steps towards breaking through.
Eduardo Perez, a senior at Chicago's Roosevelt High School, joined Genesys Works to begin his journey to gain the professional and technical skills he will need to achieve his ultimate goal, working for the visual computing technology company, NVIDIA.
Throughout the summer training program, Perez made significant strides from his first speech by coupling his determination to achieve his goals with his desire to conquer new challenges. Eduardo became one of the leaders in his training group, embracing any and all challenges set before him. He set an example for others with his scores on technical knowledge evaluations and progression from being a nervous, shy speaker to delivering booming, passionate speeches heard through the walls of other training rooms.
With each day, Eduardo Perez continues to grow and develop as a professional. He views each moment as a chance to learn, break through and leave his comfort zone. We expect Perez to continue on this path to become the professional technician of which he dreams.
