TransUnion Sponsors Summer Training for Students
Genesys Works would not be able to help so many inner-city high school students break through barriers to success without the support of partners like TransUnion. Throughout our pilot year in Chicago, TransUnion was a major contributor - they provided internships to six young professionals, thus delivering a significant positive impact upon the lives of these six individuals. This year, TransUnion has gone above and beyond with their support of Genesys Works - Chicago. Understanding the need for this program, TransUnion sponsored two students, Sidney Clarke and Yesenia Vega, covering the costs for their summer training program.
Sidney Clarke, a senior at Hyde Park Career Academy, stated since receiving the honor he has been given "more of a reason to be motivated and learn about the subject." He "[loves] the challenges they have here at GW; it makes you think when you're not in your comfort zone." When Sidney learned of his TransUnion sponsorship, he wrote a letter to them stating that TransUnion was "helping me move forward, and contributing to help me reach my dream."
Yesenia Vega, a senior at Curie High School, tells us that her experience at Genesys Works has helped "to enhance my professional skills, which I have applied to my daily life." In recent correspondence to TransUnion, she wrote that their sponsorship will "indeed help me throughout the course of my chose career in the long run of my journey."
Thanks to the help of TransUnion, both students stand poised and ready to begin their internships. And now, TransUnion is preparing to receive a new group of Genesys Works young professionals. Because of their belief in the mission of Genesys Works, they have doubled the number of internships that they are providing this year, bringing the number of Genesys Works young professionals at TransUnion to twelve. We thank TransUnion for their generous support and look forward to our partnership with them in years to come.
