HURRICANE HARVEY UPDATE
#HoustonStrong Letter from Founder and CEO
Dear Friends of Genesys Works,
I am so proud to share with you that the Genesys Works Student Relief Fund has raised over $260,000 from more than 160 individuals and foundations, allowing us to immediately and directly distribute cash and supplies to students affected by Hurricane Harvey. We would like to thank all donors, and in particular, those who acted immediately including: Bromley Charitable Trust, Strada Education Network, Terrace Fund, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, and ECMC Foundation.
While full recovery for affected families will take time, this Relief Fund gave us the ability to get our students back on their feet and back to school and work as soon as possible, which was essential in order for them to return to a sense of normalcy. On behalf of our students, I wish to thank those who supported the Relief Fund, and ask that you please continue to keep all families and businesses that were affected in your thoughts and prayers.

Harvey Emergency Relief Fund for Genesys Works Students
The students we serve through Genesys Works aspire to succeed on a path toward college and career success, enabling them to achieve a higher level of financial security. They are on their way to being able to “weather a storm” in the future. But now, as their families live in poverty, Hurricane Harvey has had severe consequences on them.
As the world watches on the news, we don’t need to state how devastating this event has been for the city of Houston and its residents. Our hearts are broken particularly for the families of our students who were displaced from their homes. The Genesys Works Emergency Relief Fund has been specifically dedicated to helping students facing particularly difficult challenges as they transition to their next living arrangement. 100% of all monies donated will go directly to our Genesys Works students facing an emergency need.
