Now Genesys Works isn’t just for those who live with Houston’s heat, in 2008 it expanded northward into Minnesota’s Twin Cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. So what differences can you expect when you join Genesys Works Twin Cities?
Well, the weather for one. Water fights aren’t so great in Minnesota in December, so instead we do other FunWorks events like bowling or ice skating in Rice Park. Our scavenger hunt includes places like the Capitol, Cathedral Hill and James J. Hill’s House, instead of the Astrodome, and during the summer we hang out on Harriet Island or Mears Park, just outside of our office in the Galtier Plaza. Genesys Works - Twin Cities also participates in Community Works service events that fit our community, like cleaning up the Mississippi River or making mittens for Goodwill. Finally, our summer technical training is limited to information technology for students in Minnesota.
But, more importantly, at Genesys Works – Twin Cities you get the same benefits as your fellow young professionals in Houston. You participate in a summer training program that teaches you the technical, professional and communication skill you need to succeed in the IT department of a large professional corporation. You then have the opportunity to earn a job working at one of the largest companies in the Twin Cities, among them Ecolab, Travelers and 3M, while still a senior year in high school. Finally, you meet great friends with similar goals and build yourself a better future with our college connection program.
