Christopher Brown is Genesys Work’s Vice President, Strategic Philanthropy & Community Development. In preparation for rapid growth on a national scale, Chris joins the National team and is responsible for the creation, planning and execution of a new government funding program, assisting Genesys Works in meeting the goals and objectives as defined by our strategic priorities, as well as supporting local and national fundraising efforts.

Chris was the Director of Strategic Initiatives at BUILD, and Vice President of Regional Management & Growth and Executive Director for BUILD’s Washington DC office. Before joining BUILD, Chris served as Project Manager for College Summit’s research and development team at the national headquarters. Chris also served as Program Director for the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship New York Metro office. In 2001, he launched the social enterprise Youth Action in Johannesburg South Africa. Chris was also a founding staff member for City Year Washington DC and an AmeriCorps member at City Year Boston.

Chris was an NYU Reynolds Graduate Fellow in Social Entrepreneurship at NYU, during which time he also taught entrepreneurship through NYC. A graduate of Valparaiso University, Chris was awarded the Distinguished Young Alumni Award, is a Comcast National Leadership Award Winner, a Coro Leadership New York and Leadership Greater Washington member.
